About the speaker:

Dr José Mª Martínez Sánchez teaches Applied Video Sequence Analysis in the second semester of IPCV at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Dr Martínez obtained the degrees of Telecommunication Engineer and Telecommunication Doctor from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in 1991 and 1998 respectively. After several teaching positions, in 2002 he joined the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where he is currently Full Professor and co-director of The Video Processing and Understanding Lab – VPULab. His research interests include Video Processing, Computer Vision, and Multimedia Systems, specializing in recent years in their application in Video-Security and Video-Monitoring. He has participated as a researcher in 11 European projects, 10 national competitive research projects, and in 16 transfer projects, and has supervised eight PhD candidates, an acivity that has led to over 50 articles in JCR indexed international journals and over 100 articles at international conferences.
