Zoltán Nagy received the Diploma in information technology and Ph.D degree from University of Veszprém in 1999 and 2008 respectively. Between 2007 and 2016, he was Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Computer Science and Control of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He has been a part-time associate professor at Pázmány Péter Catholic University since 2010 and a full-time associate professor since 2016. His research interests are computer architectures, digital circuit design, field programmable gate arrays, reconfigurable computing, high performance computing. He is currently lecturing the following courses: FPGA-based Algorithm Design, Digital Systems and Computer Architectures, Parallel Computer Architectures. Besides that, he accelerates image processing algorithms related to the “Bionic eyeglass” project and bioinformatics applications (protein sequence comparison and alignment, biological motif search) on FPGA.
